Ein Rapper, eine Bloggerin, ein Skater, eine Fotografin und ein Sneakersammler – fünf Protagonisten mit fünf unterschiedlichen Lebensentwürfen, die eines gemeinsam haben. Sie alle sind in der Platte großgeworden und leben in ihr. Eine Tatsache, die sie in ihrer Leidenschaft und Kreativität keineswegs bremst, sondern im Gegenteil sogar noch beflügelt.

Der erfolgreiche Rapper Capital Bra, der seit seinem siebten Lebensjahr in der Platte lebt, ist einer von ihnen. Seine Jugend verarbeitet er in seinen Texten: “Die Platte hat mir das Lebensgefühl gegeben; ich kann heute das rappen, was ich rappe, weil ich auch etwas zu erzählen habe.”

Doch die Schönheit liegt im Detail.Von der Sohle über die Schnürsenkel bis hin zum Innenfutter zieht sich das grau-melierte Farbschema durch. An den blauen und goldenen Schnürsenkelenden befinden sich die Worte “Traum” und “Tristesse”. Jene Begriffe, die nicht ohne einander existieren können, wenn es um die Berliner Platte geht. Indem der Träger die beiden Stränge miteinander verbindet, verknüpft er die Begriffe und ihre Bedeutung.
Limited to 240 pairs, the Plattenbau Dunk reflects the lifestyle of the “Platte”: the color, upper materials and texture of the shoe are inspired by the clear appearance of seemingly colorless prefabricated buildings. But the beauty is in the detail. From the sole of the laces up to the lining, the gray-mottled color scheme prevails. On the blue and golden shoelace ends are the words “Traum” and “Tristesse”. Those concepts that can not exist without each other when it comes to the Berliner Platte. By connecting the two strands, the wearer links the concepts and their meaning.
