Ein Jahr ist es nun schon her, dass wir unsere erste Block Party gemeinsam mit ASICS gefeiert haben. Und da diese ein voller Erfolg war, war uns klar, dass wir das wiederholen müssen.
Genau wie 2018 war unsere Party in den Trubel der Berliner Fashionweek eingebettet und so war es nur ein konsequenter Schritt mit der SEEK einen weiteren kompetenten und starken Partner ins Boot zu holen. Und ‘Boot’ ist auch das richtige Stichwort, denn auch die Location hat sich dadurch geändert und wurde ins Badeschiff, bzw in die dort angehörige Escobar verlegt. Das Badeschiff ist der Außenbereich
One year ago we celebrated our first Block Party together with ASICS. And since it was a complete success, it was clear to us that we had to repeat it.
Just like in 2018 our party was embedded in the hustle and bustle of the Berlin fashionweek and so it was only a logical step to get SEEK on board as another competent and strong partner. And ‘on board’ is also the right keyword, because the location has changed as well and has been moved to the Badeschiff.
The Badeschiff is the outdoor area of the Arena Berlin, where also the SEEK – the international trade fair for Contemporary
der Arena Berlin, wo eben auch die SEEK – ihres Zeichens internationale Händlermesse für Contemporary Fashion – stattfindet, womit unsere zweite Block Party im passenden Rahmen stattfinden sollte.
Innerhalb von nicht einmal 48 Stunden haben sich bereits hunderte von Leuten einen Platz auf unserer Gästeliste sichern können, die dann bereits ein paar Tage vor dem Event voll war. Nachdem alle Vorbereitungen abgeschlossen waren, haben wir am späten Nachmitttag unsere Gäste in der Escobar mit gekühlten Drinks, einer vom Chef persönlich angerührter Bowle und einem leckeren BBQ

Within less than 48 hours hundreds of people have already secured a place on our guest list, which was already full a few days before the event. After all preparations had been completed, we welcomed our guests to the Escobar in the late afternoon with chilled drinks, a bowl personally touched by our boss himself and a delicious BBQ.
Accordingly, the Escobar filled up quickly right from the start. Partly with guests who came especially for our block party,
empfangen. Die Escobar hat sich dementsprechend auch gleich von Anfang an schnell gefüllt. Teils mit Gästen, die extra nur für unsere Block Party gekommen sind, teil mit Messebesuchern, von denen viele auch zu unseren Freunden und unser Community gehören.
Für den passenden Sound hat neben dem OVERKILL Soundsystem in Form von DJ JNS unter anderem auch Diskohengst aka Shacke One gesorgt. Dieser ist nämlich nicht nur großartiger Deutschrapper sondern eben auch ein Musiknerd, der mit seinem fantastischem Set aus raren Disko und Funk Tunes ein großen Teil zu den guten Vibes beigetragen hat, die den ganzen Abend vorherrschten. Aber auch Spanks, der dritte DJ im Bunde hat mit seinem toll ausgewählten Houseset perfekt die Stimmung getroffen.

Besides the OVERKILL sound system in the form of DJ JNS, also Diskohengst aka Shacke One provided the right sound. He is not only a great German rapper but also a musician who with his fantastic set of rare disco and funk tunes has contributed a lot to the good vibes that dominated the whole evening. But also Spanks, the third DJ of the night, hit the mood perfectly with his great selected Houseset.
Natürlich ist eine OVERKILL Block Party nur vollständig, wenn auch wieder Sneaker Tischtennis gespielt werden kann. Unsere Tischtennisplatte von letztem Jahr haben wir mit unserer aktuellen Grafik neu bezogen und auch die Liegestühle haben ein entsprechendes Update erfahren. Für ein passendes Beachfeeling haben wir diesmal auch ein paar gebrandete Wasserbälle rausgehauen.Das Highlight war aber natürlich auch dieses Jahr das limitierte Block Party T-Shirt,welches man beim Sneaker Tischtennis gewinnen konnte. Eine Tatsache, die man zum Schluß bemerken konnte, als wir die restlichen T-Shirts so unter die Leute verteilt haben und diese sich fast darum geprügelt hätten.
Es war mal wieder eine gelungene Feier und ein mehr als würdiger Nachfolger zur letztjährigen Block Party.

Of course, an OVERKILL Block Party is only complete if sneaker table tennis can be played again. Our table tennis table from last year has been reupholstered with our latest graphics and the deckchairs have been updated as well. For a suitable beach feeling we also cut out some branded waterballs this time, but the highlight was of course also this year the limited Block Party T-Shirt, which you could win at the Sneaker table tennis. A fact you could notice at the end when we distributed the rest of the T-shirts among the people and they almost beat each other for it.
It was once again a blast and a more than worthy successor to last year’s Block Party.
