If you’ve been to this year’s Air Max Day at Bierpinsel, you may have seen a painting by Maily Ngyuen, which she exhibited as part of the Artspace curated by Afterschoolhustle. On the occasion of the release of the Nike Wmns Air Max 1 “Safari” we met up with her again and found out a little more about her.

The 21-year-old artist from Berlin has been painting since she was a child and while painting initially had more of a meditative purpose, she now uses art to express herself, to reflect on herself in the process, but also to draw attention to certain issues. Abstract, intuitive, dynamic, process-oriented – this is how Maily describes her style and is inspired by the diverse impressions she gathers every day. These can be fascinating moments, dialogues with people or topics that are currently on her mind – such as the topic of diaspora. But spending time in nature also serves as inspiration and she captures all these things in the form of sketches, drawings or small texts before incorporating them into her works.

The picture that Maily painted on the occasion of the Nike Wmns Air Max 1 “Safari” will be auctioned off to the highest bidder and the proceeds will donated to the non-profit organization Each One Teach One, which Maily also supports herself and which we have already supported in the past.

In order to be able to take part in the auction, you simply have to post your binding bid in the comments of the WMNS Air Max 1 Safari Reel on @overkillshop on Instagram. You can also send your bid via DM. The auction ends on June 17th at 4pm and whoever submitted the highest bid at that time wins the auction. Starting bid is 50,00 Euro.

Nike Wmns Air Max 1 “Safari” – Release: June18th (ATTENTION: due to delivery problems on the part of Nike, we are currently unable to offer some sizes. These will be delivered at a later date – we will keep you informed)
