Nun, da ein paar Tage in’s Land gezogen und hoffentlich alle wieder in der Normalität angekommen sind, ist es Zeit für ein kleines Recap und ein paar Danksagungen. Freunde, was war das denn bitte für eine unglaublich gute Party?! Weit über 600 Feierwütige folgten unserer Einladung und zelebrierten gemeinsam mit uns Overkills 16. Geburtstag. Getreu dem Motto „Sweet Sixteen“, freuten wir uns besonders darüber, dass sich so viele in Schale geworfen haben und mit den schärfsten Outfits am Start waren. Kunstlederhut ab!
Aber mal von Anfang an: Nach zahlreichen Glückwünschen und „Hände schütteln“ ging es langsam in den gemütlichen Teil des Abends über. Im Anschluss an der standesgemäßen Einweihung der Sektpyramide jagte ein Highlight das nächste.
Eingeheizt von den knackigsten Hits der 80er, machten sich zahlreiche Naschkatzen dann über die wahrscheinlich größte #adidassuperstar Torte der Welt her und spielten den Champion beim Schwarzlichttischtennis aus. Einige andere der Fraktion „Gemütlich“ nutzen das „Sweet Sixteen Kinderzimmer“, um fast schon vergessene Konsolenspiele zu zocken oder einfach mal entspannt auf der Couch abzuhängen. Bevor es auf der Tanzfläche dann endgültig kein Halten mehr gab, musste natürlich noch der Gewinner des #OverkillSweetSixteen Autos ermitteln werden. Unser talentierter Freund DRIK verwandelte einen VW Polo in einen Traum aus Rosa und Pink, um welchen sich nun 20 Kontrahenten in einem überdimensionalen Bällebad duellierten. Es war schon zauberhaft mit anzusehen, wie sich Erwachsene einen Kindheitstraum erfüllten und einen Autoschlüssel zwischen tausenden rosa und weißen Bällen suchten.
Nach circa 10 Minuten und einigen Tipps unsererseits, konnte der glückliche Gewinner dann ermittelt werden. Im Anschluss wurde es auf dem Dancefloor brechend voll und unsere Homies DJ WIGM, die Hitgiganten und DJ JNS sorgten dafür, dass fleißig das Tanzbein geschwungen wurde.
Dank des ein oder anderen Drinks, legten die meisten dann auch ihre Scheu ab und posierten für das Daumenkino. Für die jüngeren unter uns: ein Daumenkino ist quasi ein analoges Video. Ganze 300 verrückte und skurrile Daumenkinos konnten wir am Ende des Abends bewundern.
An dieser Stelle möchten wir nochmal die Möglichkeit nutzen und von ganzem Herzen DANKE sagen. Danke an unsere Freunde von adidas, die uns tatkräftig bei der Umsetzung dieser Sause unterstütz haben. Danke an Schweppes, Proviant, Krombacher und Beam Suntory für die leckeren und vor allem hochprozentigen Drinks. Und last but not least: DANKE, DANKE, DANKE an EUCH. Danke für die letzten 16 Jahre die ihr uns begleitet habt und Danke dafür, dass ihr diese Geburtstagsparty so unvergesslich gemacht habt. Ohne euch – ohne uns.

Now that a few days have passed and hopefully everyone is back to normal, it’s time for a little recap and some thanks. Friends, what an incredibly good party that was! More than 600 people followed our invitation and celebrated Overkill’s 16th birthday together with us. True to the motto “Sweet Sixteen”, we were especially happy that so many of you dressed up and started with the hottest outfits.
But right from the start: After numerous congratulations and “shaking hands” we slowly moved on to the cosy part of the evening. After the inauguration of the pyramid, one highlight followed the other. Heated by the best hits of the 80s, numerous sweet toothers then made their way over the probably biggest #adidassuperstar cake in the world and played the champion in black light table tennis. Some others of the faction “Gemütlich” use the “Sweet Sixteen Kinderzimmer” to play almost forgotten console games or just relax on the couch. Before there was finally no stopping on the dance floor, the winner of the #OverkillSweetSixteen car had to be determined. Our talented friend DRIK turned a VW Polo into a dream of pink and pink, which 20 opponents duelled for in an oversized ball bath. It was enchanting to see how adults fulfilled a childhood dream and looked for a car key between thousands of pink and white balls.
After about 10 minutes and some tips from us, the lucky winner could be determined. Afterwards the dancefloor became crowded and our homies DJ WIGM, the hit giants and DJ JNS made sure that the dancing leg was being swung diligently.
Thanks to one or the other drink, most of them then shed their shyness and posed for the flib-book. For the younger ones among us: a flip-book is a kind of analog video. We could admire 300 crazy and bizarre flip-books at the end of the evening.
At this point we would like to take the opportunity again and say THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. Thanks to our friends from adidas, who have supported us actively in the implementation of this Party. Thanks to Schweppes, Proviant, Krombacher and Beam Suntory for the delicious and above all high-proof drinks.
And last but not least: THANKS, THANKS, THANKS to YOU. Thanks for the last 16 years that you accompanied us and thanks for making this birthday party so unforgettable. Without you – without us.
